Inventory baselines

An inventory baseline is the agreed starting checkpoint for one confirmed product mapping and one confirmed location mapping. It prevents Tally Connect from interpreting pre-existing differences as new changes.

Create baseline records

1. Confirm product mappings.
2. Confirm exactly one Shopify location ↔ Tally godown mapping.
3. Refresh Tally masters so the single-godown proof is current.
4. Open Products → Inventory baseline.
5. Generate or refresh baseline records.

Each record shows the Shopify physical quantity, Tally closing quantity, location/godown pair, status, and verification evidence.

Review a baseline

Only approve a baseline when both quantities describe the same real-world stock position. If they differ, correct the source of truth first, refresh the record, and review again.

Status behavior

• Pending / review required — automation remains paused for the pair.
• Active / verified — the pair may participate after inventory mode is enabled.
• Paused — a mapping, lifecycle, or safety change requires a new review.
• Conflict — both systems changed independently; neither is overwritten.

Physical Shopify quantity

Tally Connect reasons about Shopify physical stock as available inventory plus signed adjustments for eligible orders or refunds that have not yet been posted to Tally. This prevents an unposted sale from being mistaken for an independent Shopify stock edit.
