Your first complete sync
Follow one product and one paid order from setup through verified posting and inventory readiness.
Use this walkthrough after installing the Windows Agent. Start with one known product and one eligible paid order so you can check every result before expanding to the rest of the store.
First confirm Subscription shows an active subscription, including an eligible trial if applicable. Subscription approval is separate from the live-write safety checks below; neither replaces the other.
1. Establish the connection
Open Setup and confirm the Agent is online. For the current application, Tally writes require Agent 0.5.0 or newer, and paid-order/refund delivery details require 0.5.1 or newer. An older Agent can appear online and complete compatible reads while remaining unable to write.
Discover companies, select the intended company, and refresh masters. Verify the company identity before proceeding. A successful heartbeat proves the Agent can reach the cloud; successful discovery proves it can read the loaded company.
See Connect TallyPrime for the connection steps.
2. Confirm one product relationship
Choose a Shopify variant with a unique SKU and a known Tally Stock Item. Confirm its mapping using the discovered Stock Item. If the item does not exist, use the Shopify to Tally review and wait for verified creation. Confirm the base unit and whole destination quantity.
For example, one Shopify variant representing a single shirt should point to that shirt's Stock Item. Do not map a pack of shirts to a single-item Stock Item without a reviewed quantity conversion.
Expected result: a confirmed mapping to the exact Stock Item, with no duplicate identity or stale-master blocker.
3. Complete accounting and location mappings
Map the required party, Sales, tax, and other applicable ledgers. The Sales ledger must accept inventory allocations. Confirm the default Shopify location and its Tally godown. Review all line items in the selected order: one unmapped line can block the entire voucher.
See Accounting ledgers and Locations.
4. Complete the test and preview
Follow Go live safely, including the disposable-company ₹1 test. When returning to the production company, refresh its masters and review its mappings again. Check the current readiness screen; do not assume evidence from another company satisfies production gates.
With live writes off, open Orders → Paid orders and select Preview for the chosen order. Resolve the displayed mapping, quantity, currency, or accounting issue before continuing.
Expected result: Preview passed, with no production voucher created by that preview. The separately approved ₹1 test does create a voucher.
5. Post and verify the order
Complete Settings → Safety & access, type ENABLE, and save. Return to the
order and select Sync to Tally. Keep the Agent and company available while the
command runs. Wait for Synced and the linked voucher number.
Check the Sales Voucher in the intended Tally company. Confirm the date, amount, items, quantities, ledger allocations, and connector reference. An entry under Import Exceptions does not prove successful posting.
If the result says Reconcile in Tally, follow Voucher verification and recovery.
6. Expand deliberately
After the first verified order, review further products and representative order cases before enabling Automatically export fully paid orders. Review refunds separately because they require the original verified Sales Voucher relationship.
Inventory has its own activation process. Generate and verify baselines, then complete the two-way inventory checks. A successful Sales Voucher alone does not activate stock synchronization.
