Resolve inventory conflicts
Make a deliberate stock decision when Shopify and Tally both changed.
A conflict opens when both Shopify and Tally changed independently since the same baseline. Tally Connect pauses the pair and overwrites neither side.
Open the conflict
Go to Inventory. Review Shopify physical quantity, Tally closing quantity, both baselines, and the location mapping.
Investigate the real stock
Check recent Shopify adjustments, unposted orders/refunds, Tally Physical Stock entries, and warehouse counts. Do not decide from the larger number alone.
Choose the trusted target
Select Use Tally quantity, Use latest Shopify quantity, or enter a Custom whole quantity.
Wait for verification
The status changes to Resolving. The item stays paused until fresh reads verify both systems at the approved target.
If verification fails, the approved resolution and sanitized error remain visible. Use Retry approved resolution only after correcting the reported cause.
Do not edit around an active resolution
Avoid manual quantity changes while a conflict is resolving. A fresh edit can invalidate the expected value and safely stop the compare-and-set workflow.
