Product mapping

Create a manual mapping

1. Refresh or discover the Tally catalog.
2. Open Mappings → Products.
3. Select the Shopify variant.
4. Select the verified Tally Stock Item.
5. Confirm the Tally base unit.
6. Enter the conversion numerator and denominator.
7. Save the mapping and confirm it after review.

Unit conversion

The ratio expresses Tally base units per Shopify unit. For example, 3/2 means two Shopify units equal three Tally base units. Any order or inventory quantity that produces a non-whole destination quantity is blocked.

For the safest configuration, use a 1/1 mapping unless the business genuinely sells a fixed, validated multiple.

Duplicate safety

A Shopify variant and Tally Stock Item cannot be adopted through an ambiguous or conflicting identity. If an existing mapping is wrong, use the reviewed remap workflow on Products. Remapping keeps the confirmed relationship auditable and pauses inventory baselines for re-verification.
