Field ownership
Control which system can propose supported product-field changes.
Field ownership is configured under Products → Settings. It determines which side can propose an update for each supported field; it does not bypass review.
Supported ownership choices
Review the options shown for name/title, SKU or part number, base unit, Stock Group, HSN, GST treatment, and GST rate. The exact choices depend on the current mapping and destination capability.
Tally ownership is intentionally disabled for Shopify barcode, description, price, images, and category because those destinations do not yet have a safe, verified Tally source contract in this connector.
Product creation defaults
Set defaults for new Tally Stock Items under Product creation defaults:
- Default Tally Stock Group
- Default Tally unit
- Optional default HSN
- Default GST treatment and rate
The approval form still displays these values so the operator can review them.
Archive lifecycle
Choose the reviewed behavior when a Shopify product or Tally Stock Item disappears. Lifecycle actions are identity-protected and non-destructive by default. Tally Connect will not automatically reactivate or publish a Shopify product, and it will not archive a product whose exact connector identity is missing or ambiguous.
Changes that require another review
- Field ownership or creation defaults changed
- Product remapped
- Source identity changed
- Tally Alter ID became stale
- Shopify product was archived or has multiple active mappings
- A scan was prepared from older company or discovery evidence
When in doubt, refresh the relevant source and approve the newly generated review.
